Out of the Gates for Down Syndrome at Mallow

A special charity race day in support of the Down Syndrome Centre Cork will take place at Cork Racecourse Mallow on Saturday, April 4th, marking the opening of the Racing Home for Easter Festival.

The event was launched by four-year-old Danny Duane, alongside his parents and Cheltenham-winning jockey Danny Mullins. Danny, from Doneraile, attends the Down Syndrome Centre Cork, where he benefits from its vital services.

This race day has been brought together through the incredible efforts of Danny’s family, a parent-led committee from DSCC, and the team at Cork Racecourse Mallow.

The Down Syndrome Centre Cork is a parent-led charity providing essential services for children and adults with Down syndrome across Cork, including specialist therapies, developmental support, and family programmes.

All proceeds from general admission tickets — both online and on the day — will be donated directly to the Centre. Special family packages are also available, making it a fantastic day out for all ages.

A free shuttle bus will run to and from Mallow Train Station and the town centre, and free parking is available on-site.

We would love to see as many people as possible come along to support this special event.
