The Down syndrome Centre Cork provides vital early intervention services for over 200 children and their families.

We receive no government funding and rely on the support of our community to continue our work

Supporting children with Down syndrome to thrive and grow

The Down Syndrome Centre Cork provides vital early intervention services for children with Down syndrome and their families, including Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech and Language Therapy (SLT), Physiotherapy, counselling, play therapy, early intervention groups, parent and baby classes, and sibling support.

​

We also run regular events to support connection, inclusion and community for children and their families.

​

As a registered charity, we receive no government funding and rely on the generosity of the public through donations and fundraising to continue our work.

Challenge 21 returns on Sunday, June 14, 2026

Join us for the 2026 edition of Challenge 21 on Sunday, June 14th. Walk, jog or run the 21km route from Haulbowline Island to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

​

Take in the views, connect with others in your community, and help raise vital funds for the Down Syndrome Centre Cork.

​

Challenge 21 means so much to us — thank you for being part of it. Learn more below.

Meet Our Ambassador,
Adam Idah!

Adam Idah, professional footballer, who played for both the Republic of Ireland, and Swansea, is an ambassador, for Down Syndrome Centre Cork.

​

He has a cousin, who attends the Centre, so it is a place of great importance for him. Above is a video of his visit to the Centre, where he played with the kids, read stories to them, and did lots of signings and photos!
