Joanne Hegarty – Board Member

Joanne Hegarty is a Board Member with the Down Syndrome Centre Cork and has been involved with the Centre since its establishment in 2017.

​

She studied Social Science and Facilitating Inclusion at University College Cork and manages the Centre’s social media platforms — including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter — while playing a key role in shaping its communications.

​

As the mother of Olivia, who attends the Centre, Joanne brings valuable lived experience and a strong commitment to inclusive, parent-led, family-centred supports.
