SIBLING SUPPORTS

What is SS?

While the parents need to learn how to properly care for their child, sometimes siblings will also need to learn a little bit about their new sibling. Sometimes, especially for younger siblings, it can be difficult to understand the differences with their new siblings, but we are happy to help your other children to navigate their new dynamic at home.

As well as this, they will be able to meet with fellow peers who have siblings with down syndrome, and hopefully make some new friends, who they can share and receive advice, games and other resources with.

Benefits of SS

Sibling Supports help the siblings of children who have Down Syndrome, with the following:

  • How to properly care for their sibling, and what to expect, as especially for younger children, it can sometimes be difficult to know what they may need.

  • Allow them chances to make friends with people who also have children with down syndrome in their families, so they can exchange resources, advice and hopefully become friends.

FEES

As a charity we charge a nominal fee of €25 for most of our services to support running costs, and we subsidise the rest.
